the most important thing in running any event above a 100- 200m

the most common mistake in anything above those 2 events is going out too fast. people will start out spiriting and then die. You often hear about these amazing kenyans who battle with sprints and vursts of speed. if you're an amazing Affrican distance runner who runs pros stop reading. but if your not  someone like that pay attention. Don't try to run at usain bolt pace for a mile. in some races the 5th or 6th best runner ccan beat the best runner because the best runner went out too fast forccing the top 5 or so runners to keep  up. that means if the 6th ruunner just uses his energy well winning the race should be almost a walk in the park. Anyway main point don't go out too fast. ive won a 5k before where someone was a head of me for the first 2 mile and then i passed him right after the 2 mile mark, then later i just kicked in the last 800 or so and i won that race by about 20 seconds.
