Here is something a lot of people forget to do. It is also something very easy to be lax about. There are some good exerccses u can do besides running that will strenthen not jsut your core but your entire body: Crunches, planks, burpees, pushups, torture box(planks), mountain climber, star jumbs, plyolunges, regular lunges, lifting weights, leg lifts, walking pushups and more. Just in case anyone didn't know plyo lunges are when you start with one leg in front and one behind you. Then you jump and switch and that's one plyolunge.

      Having a strong core can actually improve your times a lot, especially races such as the 800. Having a strong core allows one to move their legs more explosively and have better kicks, (entire last lap of 800).Core is a great thing that every runner should do and its very beneficial, especially at the end of races.
